IN BRIEF：Anders heats up rhetoric on China’s rule in Tibet

Calgary — Rob Anders, a Conservative Calgary MP with a history of making controversial statements, is accusing China of committing a “cultural genocide” and warning that it may face an “insurrection” in Tibet during the Beijing Olympics.
In an interview with CBC Radio in Calgary yesterday, Mr. Anders said he plans to raise the issues with the Dalai Lama when he meets with the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader today. Mr. Anders is travelling to Michigan for the meeting as part of the Canadian Parliamentary Friends of Tibet.
