Hells Angels “Advertise” For New T.O. Clubhouse After Police Raids

Tuesday April 24, 2007
Would you like to have the Hells Angels as your neighbour?

It could happen.

The motorcycle riders were evicted from their own clubhouse on Eastern and Logan Ave. on April 4th, as part of a massive province-wide police crackdown.

Officers broke down walls of the heavily fortified building during a surprise early morning raid, which saw more than 30 gang members and associates arrested.

At least 40 other establishments across Canada were also raided, including 12 more in the GTA.

That left those not swept up in the sweep looking for a new place to call home.

Now the bikers have posted a de facto ad on their website, which asks the provocative question, “Do You Have A Place To Rent To Us?”

“We are currently looking for a place to rent and renovate with parking and proximity to Downtown Toronto,” the query reads.

“We have great references from former neighbours and we pay our bills on time. We will need the premises for approximately 24 months, will leave it in improved condition and respect all conditions to the letter.”

In an exclusive email sent to CityNews, the Angels webmaster claims the “offers are … coming in” and they have a place they’re considering in the core.

And it concludes with a statement of warning that’s open to interpretation.

“The government’s obvious ploy to bankrupt us by forcing us to defend ourselves against unjust actions as a matter of tactic, is a foreshadowing of what may become the normal form of procedural persecution many are destined to face in the future.”

And in a statement some might find ironic given their frequent burshes with the legal system, the group complains their property was seized without a trial, and urges that all Canadians not be “judged by an electronic lynching” – but only by a court of law.
