捷克佳/从3月26日第40届国会解散到5月2日大选,在38天的时间里,除复活节以及英语和法语两次辩论之外,各党领袖在大部分的时间里纷纷深入各选区进行密集的竞选拉票活动。从收集到的每日行程看,最为辛苦的是保守党领袖哈珀,而魁人政团领袖杜锡则多局限在魁省。自由党渐弱,新民主党走强,但不知道是否“旺丁不旺财”,绿党则渴望在国会中拥有一席之地。

新闻背景:总理哈珀3月26日上午晋见了总督庄斯顿(David Johnston),请求解散第40届国会并获准,哈珀随后宣布,此次联邦大选的投票日为今年5月2日。各党立即启动竞选运动。哈珀随后转赴其选战的第一站魁北克城(Quebec City),并发表了首次竞选演说。
