{"id":1348,"date":"2007-02-28T13:49:26","date_gmt":"2007-02-28T18:49:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/?p=1348"},"modified":"2007-02-28T13:49:26","modified_gmt":"2007-02-28T18:49:26","slug":"20070228%e6%b1%bd%e6%b2%b9%e4%be%9b%e5%ba%94%e7%9f%ad%e7%bc%ba%e5%8f%af%e6%9c%9b%e8%88%92%e7%bc%93","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/?p=1348","title":{"rendered":"20070228\/\u6c7d\u6cb9\u4f9b\u5e94\u77ed\u7f3a\u53ef\u671b\u8212\u7f13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>End in sight for gas woes<\/p>\n<p>Feb 28, 2007 12:00 PM<br \/>\nCurtis Rush \/Staff Reporter<\/p>\n<p>Imperial Oil said today its Nanticoke refinery has restarted crude oil processing at reduced rates, which should ease the gas shortage over the next two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The company&#8217;s refinery near Hamilton, which contributed to a gas shortage in Ontario when it lost half its production due to a fire on Feb. 15, is expected to return to normal refinery operations by mid-March.<\/p>\n<p>However, the gasoline unit will be back at full capacity much sooner, possibly by the end of the week, and that&#8217;s good news for motorists, according to Imperial spokesperson Robert Theberge.<\/p>\n<p>Theberge said work is continuing to repair pipes and electrical cables that were damaged by fire and water two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>Premier Dalton McGuinty said today that he has been assured by the chief executives of Petro Canada and Shell Canada that &#8220;they are doing everything they can&#8221; and gas supplies should be back to normal in seven to 10 days.<\/p>\n<p>McGuinty would not comment when asked whether the province has an emergency plan in case the situation gets worse.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not going to speculate on where this is going to go,&#8221; McGuinty said, calling the problem a &#8220;perfect storm&#8221; created by the refinery fire, CN strike, a frozen St. Lawrence Seaway and winter challenges.<\/p>\n<p>For now, the gasoline shortages continue, and in some cases, are spreading as the CN Rail strike delayed deliveries.<\/p>\n<p>Shell reported today that it is seeing more stations run out in the Toronto area .<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, about 5 per cent of the Shell stations were without fuel, but that number has increased to about 15 per cent today, according to company spokesperson John Peck.<\/p>\n<p>Peck said about 30 stations in the GTA are now without fuel due to high demand.<\/p>\n<p>Shell Canada is trucking in fuel from terminals in Hamilton and Sarnia as well as from the Keele terminal in Toronto.<\/p>\n<p>Imperial Oil reported today that 100 stations throughout the province are without fuel.<\/p>\n<p>Imperial said it is co-ordinating deliveries to commercial and retail customers to ensure priority needs such as emergency services and home-heating customers are met.<\/p>\n<p>Theberge said there is no danger to residential customers because home-heating fuel inventories were high due to the warmer than expected temperatures in December and January.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; with files from Rob Ferguson <\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.thestar.com\/News\/article\/186633<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>End in sight for gas woes Feb 28, 2007 12:00 PM Curtis Rush \/Staff Reporter Imperial Oil said today its Nanticoke refinery has restarted crude oil pro&#8230;<br \/><a class=\"read-more-button\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/?p=1348\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[10],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1348"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=1348"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1348\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=1348"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=1348"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.jackjia.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=1348"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
